Althea Organics Ltd was founded in 1999, but the care and cultivation of oil-bearing roses has been a family tradition for more than 100 years – with its beginnings in the early 1900s. Althea Organics' rose fields (in the villages of Yagoda and Skobelevo) are sheltered by the slopes of two majestic mountain ranges. They lie in the heart of the Rose Valley, land of the Thracian kings and home to the world's finest flower – the Bulgarian rose.

Althea Organics cultivates oil-bearing rose and lavender and distills premium rose essential oil and lavender essential oil, as well as floral waters, applying original traditional recipes. They also offer a wide range of organic plant extracts, oils, and dried herbs from eco-regions of the Balkans. After many years of research and testing, they have developed a steam distillation technology that combines a 400-year-old tradition with the science of extracting plant essences – a technology that is dermatologically oriented and preserves the therapeutic properties and synergy of the plants.

Their long history and experience in producing raw aroma ingredients, combined with top-quality products, have helped them build strong, long-term relationships with many partners. Althea Organics supplies organic ingredients for personal care, cosmetics, and perfumery products in Asia, Europe, North America, and Australia.
